Man Strikes Officer With Cane During Arrest In Chambersburg: Police

A 63-year-old man struck a police officer with his cane while resisting arrest in Chambersburg, authorities said.

Randy Nolan, of no fixed address, was taken into custody after officers were called to the 900 block of Wayne Avenue for a criminal trespass complaint on Monday, Nov. 11, according to Chambersburg police.

Nolan refused to leave the property, leading officers to attempt to remove him. During the arrest, he struck an officer in the leg with his cane, police said in a release issued Sunday, Nov. 17.

Nolan was charged with one count each of aggravated assault, resisting arrest, and criminal trespass, authorities said.

He was arraigned by Judge Manns and committed to Franklin County Jail, court records show.
